Drexler (Adrian Leung) is a London-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer from Sydney, Australia. With a background in classical music coupled with a passion for contemporary sounds, Drexler crafts his music in a modern cinematic style that is raw, earnest, and textured. His music combines modern-classical, ambient, folk, and indie elements, as well as nodding to his Asian heritage. July 2020 saw the release of his debut album, Handles, a work born out of the composer’s desire to create a body of work that represented him as an artist.

Handles Remixed is a fresh take on Handles, with six collaborators taking on Drexler’s original work. The collection edges an already boundary-pushing modern-classical record further into the realms of ambient and electronic music, making it a fascinating and innovative project of musical fusion both in terms of genre and influence. The line-up is notable: Ruckspin (producer and founding member of acclaimed Bristol-based band Submotion Orchestra), BPMoore (modern-classical artist, producer, and fellow label-mate), Luminist (Sydney-based electronic artist and soundtrack composer), DEEP LEARNING (Richard Pike of motorik Sydney/London- based band PVT), Running Notch (producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Toby Shain) and Dan Villalobos (London-based producer and artist). The culmination of their efforts has resulted in a diverse collection that is pristine in its execution and captivating from start to finish.

Of Handles Drexler remarked, “Although Handles marks a new beginning for me, it's my lifetime of musical influences, collaborating with old friends, and sound recordings of memories past that helped forge this album.” It is then appropriate that the next chapter of this work should be born out of collaboration, the spirit that brought the record together in the first place.
