'For Now We See Darkly' is a rework of Frances Shelley's piece by the same title.
Unlike the original which is gentle, free and rubato, Drexler's version carries a sense of urgency through its ambient and glitchy textures. The rework begins in a place of stillness, slowly building with the introduction of atmospheric percussion and arpeggiated synths.
It ends with a feeling of optimism as the piano, synths and strings begin to work in harmony with the distorted percussive elements. All the sounds in the rework were derived from Shelley's original recordings - mangled, cut up, reimagined and rearranged into a new work.
